Ingredients:
- 2 pounds sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups Mexican blend cheese, grated
- 6 to 8 tortillas
- Optional toppings: salsa, guacamole, sour cream, cilantro
Instructions:
- In a ziplock bag, combine the sliced steak, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, chili powder, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Seal the bag and shake it well to coat the steak pieces with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onions to the bag, seal it again, and shake to coat the vegetables with the marinade.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Transfer the marinated steak, bell peppers, and onions from the bag to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are just tender, and the steak is cooked to your liking.
- Warm the tortillas according to the package instructions.
- Serve the spicy steak fajitas on the warm tortillas, topped with grated Mexican blend cheese.
- Garnish with your choice of optional toppings such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and fresh cilantro.
- Roll up the fajitas and enjoy the delicious and spicy flavors!
